Metaphysics involves the philosophical study of the nature of existence and the categories of things that exist. Metaphysicians ask questions such as:

• What does it mean to exist?
• Is everything material, or are there also immaterial things?
• Do we have free will, or are we determined to do everything we do?
• Do human beings have minds or souls in addition to bodies?

Consider your own worldview: Is a human merely a body? Or, do human beings have nonphysical minds or souls in addition to bodies?
