There are many different types of leaders that I have seen throughout my 31 years of life. I started recognizing good leaders as early as middle school when I really started to get into competitive sports. Throughout all of this time there is one individual that truly stands out among the rest. This person is a supervisor I recently had and has since moved on because he was recognized for his strengths in leadership and management. This supervisor understands what people look for and knows how to motivate them. This is seen in the way that he delegates work and distributes it in the correct areas. As stated by Mr. Forbes in our video understanding how to delegate is a quality in a good leaders. I agree this is an extremely important trait and it is one that my former supervisor possess. He is able to complete many tasks better than most but knows how to delegate these tasks to the right individuals to make the process much smoother. This also makes the workers feel empowered because they see that they are being given tasks that could be completed by someone else and instead their supervisor has trusted them to complete the tasks themselves.

While in some cases being in a leadership position makes it much more obvious when someone is a good leader you do not need to be in this position to act as a good leader. Ensuring the people around you are working in the right direction is sometimes all that is needed to represent as a good leader. Helping and guiding fellow employees is all that is needed to be a good leader.
